Modern Materials Meets Aged Charm
Merola’s stunning Istanbul range offers an authentic aged look with incredibly realistic white and black marble designs, available in five innovative geometric formats.
Manufactured by a leading Spanish factory, the Istanbul collection is perfect for both walls and floors, indoors and out. Its design is full of character and charm, with soft colors and distressed edges adding depth and realism.
Drawing inspiration from historic European tradition, the monochrome color combination pairs luminous white Calacatta marble with the deep resonance of black Nero Marquina marble. Calacatta marble, historically used in European palaces and churches to symbolize luxury and power, combines beautifully with the black and white marble seen in landmark buildings in Spain. The Istanbul collection enhances this classic pairing with a sumptuous matte finish and glossy veins, bringing an authentic historic tone to any modern home.
Ideal for statement kitchen backsplashes, luxurious bathrooms, sophisticated living room floors, grand entrance halls, or stylish feature walls, the Istanbul Collection represents timeless tiling elegance. It offers a wide range of design options through five different tile formats: a square, a fluted-look and three interlocking geometric shapes – shield, cross, and star. These can be used individually, in pairs, or in various combinations. To simplify selection, Merola has arranged specific numbers of these tile shapes into experiences, available alongside the five standalone Istanbul tile formats.
In addition to being hard-wearing and easy to clean, Istanbul tiles stand out for their aged appearance. The rounded edges and tumbled look of the square format enhance the authenticity of the white and black marble effects. With more than 25 unique faces and a subtly pitted and undulating surface on each tile, Istanbul is rich in charm and character.
