Magnificent, moody, and mysterious monochrome designs

There is so much to love and admire in Ebru, a dynamic set of inspiring designs from Merola’s ever-growing stable of hexagonal tiles. Ebru offers something unique and cleverly crafted. The twenty different monochrome designs were all inspired by the crafting skill of paper marbling. In this age-old Turkish technique colorful patterns are created by sprinkling and swirling colored pigments onto an oily film sitting on the surface of a shallow pan of water. The resulting pattern is then transferred onto a sheet of paper. This achieves designs that are magnificent, mysterious, and moody: made even more impactful in the Ebru series because they are realized in a stark black and white palette. The twenty distinctive designs can be rotated at will to achieve a random effect.

This porcelain tile can be used internally to create a feature floor in a hallway, entry way, living or dining room. Ebru is equally at home as a dramatic kitchen backsplash, bathroom feature wall, or luxurious facing for a walk-in shower.

Although this design is one of the most eclectic and extreme in the Merola portfolio, it remains an imminently practical choice, being hygienic and easy to clean. Ebru is an excellent choice for flooring in an interior dry space, where its intricate designs can truly shine. Additionally, consider using Ebru as a stunning statement wall covering your outdoor kitchen or barbecue area.

Ebru tiles offer an expected lifespan of more than 50 years and can be reused again at the end of a building’s useful life. This ability to be recovered and recycled following demolition minimizes waste, making these tiles a highly sustainable selection.
