On November 10, 2024, Tragedy Struck
A Devastating Fire Engulfed Valor Farm
Just one day before their much-anticipated 5th annual Veterans Day event, tragedy struck. A fire engulfed the barn, riding arena, and administrative offices—key facilities that have been at the heart of their mission to serve veterans. While grieving the loss of two beloved therapy donkeys, the National Center for Healthy Veterans has shown incredible resilience, inspired by the outpouring of support from their community.
Despite the tragedy, staff and veterans came together to mark the Veterans Day commemoration with a private worship service—a moment of unity, reflection, and strength. Now, they are determined to rebuild these vital spaces, which serve as places of healing, connection, and growth for the veterans they support.
